Hi latindidg,
I echo Mahir's welcome, it is great to have South American members here on the forum.
What you are saying isn't a rumour but is true. I feel that the word 'yidaki' or 'yi
daki' or 'yirdaki' should be reserved for instruments from NE Arnhem Land, and retailers and manufacturers who use these words to describe their products should understand that these terms should not be interchangeable with 'didgeridoo'.
If you want to report on any website in South America or elsewhere which is misrepresenting instruments, you can post in the
Authentication and Labelling system section:

Hope you enjoy this forum!
