If you have an idea for a festival, see below for funding:

Quote:
Please find attached a flyer promoting funding opportunities through the next round of the Festivals Australia program.

Festivals Australia is an Australian Government funding program designed to assist the presentation of arts and cultural activities at Australian regional and community festivals. The emphasis is on supporting new projects, which add to the quality and diversity of the arts and cultural programming of regular Australian regional and community festivals.

The next funding round closes on 15 July 2009, for projects beginning after 1 January 2010.

Festivals Australia funding is primarily available for cultural, community and local government organisations that run festivals in regional and remote areas of Australia, and we would appreciate your assistance in distributing the program flyer through your networks in any of the following ways:

· place the flyer on your website/public noticeboard;
· pass the flyer on to your local councillors;
· forward the flyer to cultural or community organisations in your area; and
· advertise the program funding rounds in your e-newsletter.

If you require further information, please call a program officer on 1800 819 461 (freecall), or email festivals.australia@environment.gov.au. Guidelines and application forms are available on the Department’s website at www.arts.gov.au/festivals_australia.
