Hi there,
Being far away from my son (I'm in Israel, he's in Australia) I'm trying my very best in helping him pursuit a long time dream of his – having the opportunity to accompany, follow, work side by side, assist a didgeridoo craftsman in his daily routine for a week or two.
He's 24, and has been on the road for the last 8 months touring New Zealand and Australia. He's currently in Adelaide, planning on driving to Alice Springs and then continue to either the NT or Queensland.
Anyone with any knowledge, idea, thought, contact or link that could somehow advance him in achieving his goal is encouraged to respond.
Thanks, Moshe

Hi Moshe,

Would that be in a volunteer capacity, or would your son be prepared to pay for the experience?

Cheers,

Guan

Hi there Guan
Thanks for your quick reply
Ilan, my son, would consider it a great honor to accompany a true didge craftsman in his work, assisting in whatever is necessary, experiencing and learning along the way. He has been traveling on his own for the last 8 months, touring NZ and OZ. During this period he's done much volunteer work on various eco- farms in NZ (WOOFING) and would love to do so also now – volunteer as an apprentice to a didge artist.
If there is anyone you can refer him to, both he and I will be grateful.
Thanks, Moshe

Hi there guan
I appreciate your effort to connect me with Adrienne but as you obviously know these seminars are costly are basically targeted at a somewhat different kind of clientele than my son. As mentioned before, Ilan is thinking more in the way of volunteering as an apprentice for a period of 2 weeks accompanying a didgeridoo craftsman.
If you happen to have any constructive ideas in this direction, both he and I will be grateful.
Thanks, Moshe

Hi Moshe,

Sorry Adrienne could not help. I personally do not know any didgeridoo craftsmaen looking for volunteers to help out with didgeridoo work per se. There are businesses looking for assistance in other ways, for example, strategic planning, administration work, marketting etc.

The other option is to contact community art centres and see if they would place you with an artist for a couple of weeks.

Cheers,

Guan

Hi there guan
Thank you for all your efforts. I have passed on all info to Ilan. Hopefully, something will turn out.
Take care, Moshe
