You may be interested in an International Symposium we are holding at the National Museum of Australia in November 2009 called '
Barks, Birds & Billabongs - Exploring the Legacy of the 1948 American-Australian Scientific Expedition to Arnhem Land'.

Please see the information below and attached.

We would like to distribute posters for the benefit of you and your students/ researchers/ staff etc. to be placed strategically.

Are you interested in receiving information about this event and how many posters can you possibly take and who would be the best contact person to post them to at your institution with their email, phone number and postal details.

Can you also please pass this on through your networks to who ever you think would be interested.

Thank you for your help.

Barks, Birds & Billabongs;

Dates: 16-20 Nov 2009

Location: National Museum of Australia, Canberra

The 60th anniversary of the 1948 American‑Australian Scientific Expedition to Arnhem Land is a fitting time for celebration, re‑evaluation, and renewed collaboration between the individuals, institutions, and countries touched by this formative research venture. In 2009 the Centre for Historical Research at the National Museum of Australia will commemorate this anniversary by hosting ‘Barks Birds & Billabongs: Exploring the Legacy of the 1948 American-Australian Scientific Expedition to Arnhem Land', a symposium that will investigate the expedition’s significant, and often controversial, legacy. This conference will be based around four core themes: Histories, Legacies, Research and Collections, and Indigenous Perspectives.
