Paul,
You should be breathing in and out your nose whilst doing the dhirrls - that way you won't be getting uncomfortable and 'full in a few seconds'. Playing should always be comfortable. The more you play the more relaxed you should get and the breathing in or out of the nose on the breath cycle will become second nature.
Kyle

Kyle Hi Kyle I am comfortable when I play normally as I can regulate the air flow fine and can play for ages, but doing that example where I had to breathe in loads of air so it could be heard on the file did fill me up too quickly and yes breathing that excess out through the nose would have solved it, wasn't too bothered though as it isn't an issue normally Thanks Paul

And as I found last weekend with hours of "didge time" on my hands I can not only breathe in when needed during the drone, but also OUT getting rid of excess stale air that I took too much of on the inhales.
Last weekend while I was away for the weekend I received Milkay Mununggurr's "Hard Tongue Didgeridoo" which on first listen on the way to work this morning seems to take a good progressive approach to the NEAL Yirdaki style. So far it seems to be well organized using simple techniques and progressing to more advanced ones.
And I thought I was a decent didge player.....I feel like I'm learning to walk again!
Kevin

Kyle I think Paul was intentionally illustrating a point for my benefit. Read back on the thread to see what I mean
