Hi MT,

Bakitju is about how Gurrumul was left behind at the Barunga Festival one year when he was there with Yothu Yindi band.

Bangadi, written by Manuel Dhurrkay (who is Bangadi skin) - like all great songs - is a love song. Its about rejection, sorrow but also connection to culture.

Well guys, I'm off to the NT tomorrow to get Adam Laga, will try to stay in touch via the forum.

Catch you all when I get back!

Guan

Could Gurrumul be on the verge of releasing a new album?

I had a listen to a "rough mix" CD a couple months ago and managed to take a pic of it with my mobile, see attached. Also one song for your listening pleasure.

I don't think this "rough mix" CD is available for general release, best to contact Mark or Michael at Skinnyfish and ask them what the deal is.
