George Winunguj, a Maung, was a history maker as he was the first traditional performer of the didjeridu to play and record with a classical music ensemble. There's an old LP in the iDIDJ Store, titled Adelaide Wind Quintet with George Winunguj, didjeridu,:

Beautiful picture, Kyle. Powerful picture, two cultural worlds, only one for music. I could be very interested to hear the atmosphere of this record. It's feasible to have here a short sound sample? (if it's not too complicate to obtain a mp3 from a vinyl).

Nice one Kyle!

Here is one more of Winunguj... he is the guy lying down on the ground in some sort of tribal ceremony. The notes for this says that it was taken around 1968 and that Winunguj was to stand for the Arnhem seat in the Legislative Council elections.

And some more of Winunguj...

Similar to Djalu, Winunguj was still active as a didgeridoo player when old - somewhat unusual for a Top Ender.
