If, like me, you wonder sometimes on how you can actually help the people who have given us this wonderful instrument of our desires, then may I recommend hitting the donate button on the following iDIDJ page:

http://www.ididj.com.au/ididjphilanthropy.html

My wife is getting a smaller chocolate egg this Easter (in fact I haven't bought it yet), but she'll benefit from this, and the cash will be much better spent by Guan! I must warn you that hitting the donate button, even for AUD$5, can cause a wider smile when you next pickup your Yirdaki/Mago/Yigi Yigi/Agave/PVC stick...

Thanks Dave for your kindness, any funds we can raise will be much appreciated, there are always needs in communities in Arnhem Land, and with Elijah staying here at the moment there are sure to be extra expenses.

Guan

It's the least I can do. In fact, I just pasted this message into my facebook wall and the two largest facebook didj groups (around 2,400 members each):

Why not go for a smaller Easter egg this year and donate the difference to this worthy cause?

http://www.ididj.com.au/ididjphilanthropy.html

...first response took just 3mins!

Dave:
I couldn't agree with you more mate. I'm still very young on the instrument but decent enough to play for some school children so I volunteered for half a day last week for an international day project by playing the didge at the Australian section of the hall. To my surprise, I received a beautiful card and $50.00 for the time and effort, all of which will all be donated to iDIDJ. It made me feel good to know that the sound we love to make was also shared with all those children and teachers. They learned something one way or the other and the money will be used to help even more people.
What a win/win situation!

My hat is truly off to you Eric!

No matter how 'green' we are, we can all make a difference and we can all educate wherever and whenever we play. Through Guan's efforts the iDIDJ cultural hub gives us some extraordinary tools in this repect.

Hi Dave,

You have right, it's caused me wider smile!
As an editor of the hungarian didgeridoo website, I've made a section about this issue. http://didgeridoo.saman.org.hu/bevezeto/didgeridoo/ (unfortunatelly just in hungarian language)
Couple of days ago I have wished to help...I think that's the best way now!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

All the best
Jonh

My hat is off again :-)

There's a lot of us 'balanda' didj players around the world and everyone I've met has been a thoroughly smashing human being. If we can't at least try to make a difference together somehow, then who will?

Way to go brother - my smile is getting wider!
