Hi folks!

I'm pretty new to this caper of playing a didge, been playing for about 6 months and loving every minute of it! (Apart from wax in my beard :P)

I recently purchased a nice didge from "Didgeridoo Breath" in Fremantle WA. I wanted to see if anyone had had experience with them in the past?
In my experience, they are fantastic! I have been in there more than a dozen times, and every time I have had a great experience in the shop. All of their instruments claim to come from top end Australia, and all made by either Aboriginal artists or well known others.

I have read a few things about the other not so good shops out there, but just wanted to see if I have placed my trust in the right shop!

Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say!

Ben

Hi Ben,

I know the Didgeridoo Breath folk, Sanshi, a co-owner of the business, was at Djalu's Masterclass last year. Good bloke he is too.

I don't think Didgeridoo Breath makes the claim that all their instruments come from the Top End, you'll need to check your info again. Most of their instruments are whitefella-made. If you want to support traditional Aboriginal craftsmen and artists and the true custodians of the didgeridoo, there are better places to give your money, place your trust in, and feel good about. But if you just want a good didgeridoo to play with, there are lots and lots of places for that.

Hi Guan,

Thanks for the info. Do you know of anywhere in Perth that sells indigenous made, top end didge's?

Cheers,
Ben

Sanshi picked up a few when he was in Gove, worth asking him what he has left.

Other than that, I don't know of anyone else in Perth who sells Arnhem Land didgeridoos.
