A lot of great information here, thank you.

I picked up three didgeridoos last summer when I was touring Queensland for a month. Didn't know what I was getting at the time. I have been practicing almost every day.

Fortunately I obtained one didgeridoo that has proven to be very satisfactory. A second one that has very deep pitch and rather difficult to play, with little back-pressure. The third is higher-pitched and beautiful, but doesn't really have a lot of outstanding qualities -- at least not that I recognize yet.

It has been very interesting going back and forth between the three instruments and learning different styles to suit each one.

I would love to return to Australia to made an educated purchase, and to take some lessons from the different parts of Australia.

Thanks again for all of the great information here!

Hi Harry! Welcome to the forum!

Funny you should pop up here, I just moved from West Virginia to Guam (Beckley area in WV to be exact).

Where abouts in WV are you from?

At the moment I'm a government contractor working with a church here on Andersen Air Force Base as a paid musician. It's a nice little gig and the people are pretty cool too. As far as I know I'm the only Didjeridu builder and player on the island lol

:D

I just set up a trip to NE Arnhem Land in June to learn to play the traditional method. It's a bit frustrating trying to learn from CDs.
