Hello,

I'm Julien from France and didgeridoo player for a little more than 10 years.
Just wanted to introduce myself here, I just spend few hours on this excellent forum and tought it would be better to be part of it :D

I started to play the didge in 2000, there was a didge shop in Nice, my city, the owner brought instruments from Australia twice a year at that time. unfortunately it closed and I had to stop improving the way I played then (the owner was also my teacher).
I restarted five years ago and bought a F key didgeridoo to Bob Druett, I wanted to start with a great instrument which would give me the motivation needed to go further.

Due to the way I like to play now I sold this didge and only play on "Didgelements", a french didgeridoo brand owned by a young and talented crafter called "Krismix", aka Christian Guerret.
Actually there's a little revolution here in France about the way we play didge, I don't know if it's the same or not in Australia but more and more beatbox or electronic effects are used, and it opens new doors, new possibilities.

Anyway I'm happy to be here ! just check this link if you're interested about french didgeridoos

Cheers from South east France,

Julien.

Ditto, welcome Julien and thanks for sharing your story! :D :D :D

This isn't just an Australian forum but a global forum, the majority of subscribers are from overseas rather than Australia believe it or not. But yeah we try to focus on all things trad though of course there is a lot of cross-over in interest among members here, so if its related to didgeridoo its relevant :D

Those French didgeridoos look nice, do you play beatbox style Julien? I'm impressed with the way didgeridoo has evolved, I have no idea how to play beatbox to be honest lol!

Anyway hope you continue to enjoy your time here.

Guan
