Hi All

In my quest to learn the didj I have decided that it's time I get a real deal Yidaki. However I'm quite poor and couldn't afford anything over 500 USD including shipping. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to find an affordable Yidaki that would still sound pretty decent and would be a good facilitator for growth as a player?

Any help is appreciated!

I suggest you try before you buy if at all possible and let the instrument choose you as much as you choose it, so if you're in the US there are several dealers who you could contact depending upon your location. If you're in Australia then the host of this forum can help you out and if you're in Europe then there are many resellers you could approach. Let us know where you are and we can help further.

Kyle

Hi Kyle

That's kind of the issue I'm facing, I live on Guam and there is no place whatsoever on the entire island to try a didjeridu or a yidaki. literally, I am the only player I'm aware of on the island. And as far as I know I'm the only one who makes them out of hardwoods as well, most people who are even somewhat aware of it usually make their own out of PVC but then give up.

So that's my problem, I'm too poor to fly to Australia (right now) to try and find one from a dealer (Didgeridoo Breath in Fremantle has a wonderful online store but again, I can only go by the soundclips and pictures they put up)

I really wouldn't mind buying one based on a review, but the thing is I know no one who owns a store or can go in and try some for me. I'm kind of in a hard place right now :P

Guam is a US protectorate isn't it? Perhaps it would be easier to get something shipped out from the States for this reason.

I'm sure Guan can do you a deal once you know exactly what sort of yidaki you're after as he's got many to choose from!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Kyle
