Hey Cyril,

I would suggest you work on the phrasing more to get the right feel and not worry about the speed at which you're playing. At the moment the vamp seems to run away from you so if you slow it down and work on the component parts I think it will come together more. When you play too quickly it starts to sound very Western in style and you lose the 'Yolngu style' edge if you know what I mean.

Try recording a similar vamp a bit slower and really focus on the feel and timing of the tonguing (the phrasing) so we can compare.

Hi Cyril,

If you put more "oompf" into the tonguings you'll sound a lot better. At the moment the sound you're getting is pretty good, but just a bit more grunt with the phrasings will transform the sound totally. Try opening up your throat a bit with the tonguings to get a bass 'thud' with the phrasings. Otherwise I like it!

Guan

Hi Cyril,
sounds good. The thing that is missing is the punch at the beginning of each triplet. Personally I would suggest using a bit more pressure in the abdominal region to make it more punchier, and with the throat open more to make it more gruff (as Guan says).
For your question about the dups I think the solution is the same, hold your embouchure a bit tighter, say dup, and give a push from the abdomen.
cheers, Martin

No much more to say in terms of advice, but I know that you can play better...
Normally your pattern are well defined and your voice is really impressive (one level above me I think  ). I expected better from you :D , so what is your problem with speed ?
Go back to work french guy...
