I spotted this review of a show today at work (when I was supposed to be working), and it looked really wonderful. I know they are coffins, but the traditional patterns look to my ignorant balanda eyes like the patterns on didjeridu, and maybe some of them are the same...? I don't really know.

Yes they are like many instruments depicting animals/creatures/ flora and fauna and a very moving dialogue to boot,, thanks for the link

Yeah... sad and also wonderful... there is also a link to this, and the photo of Jimmy Wululu working on a coffin brings home even more the comparisons with didjeridu. I wish I were not so far away from Australia...

Those hollow log coffins are an important work, 200 coffins representing 200 years of oppression and invasion. The decorations are indeed similar to didgeridoos, good observation Cindy :D :D
