 Post subject: Old Nym at Nourlangie, 1950s/60s

This is scanned from "The Green Eyes are Buffaloes" by Allan Stewart (1969). Stewart was a buffalo shooter and outback safari operator in Australia's far north.

The pic is interesting because of the bark mask worn by Old Nym. These sorts of ornamentation are not common, actually, the only times I've seen anything like this are in old photographs and even then only rarely.

Old Nym's other name was Jimunguur also spelt as Jimunggur, born circa 1910.

It was my stepfather that wrote the Green Eyes are Buffaloes(Allan Stewart) I have the didgeridoo that old nym made for the photoes
