Check out these 2 instruments!

The darker coloured one is a recent stick, made and used by wangga didgeridoo player Peter 'Chainsaw' Atjpurrki from the Cox Peninsula in the NW NT region. Why 'Chainsaw'? Because he used to work in forestry apparently. His family have very interesting nicknames, like "6-pack", "Shotgun" etc.

The lighter coloured instrument is an old wangga didgeridoo previously in the famous Lord McAlpine Collection.

The interesting thing about these 2 instruments is that despite being 50 or more years difference in age, they are very similar. The same tree species has been used, the manner of construction is nearly identical, and they both play with similar acoustic characteristics and are keyed in E fundamental.
