Port Keats is not in Western Arnhem Land at all, but the playing style at Port Keats is overtone-absent like Western Arnhem Land. Note that in some old photographs of David Blanasi, in Rolf Harris' book for example, it appears that Blanasi was using instruments from Port Keats... the manner of decoration is striking and points to Port Keats origin. Does anyone know what I mean?

Anyway, here's a vid of Darryl playing a Port Keats maluk which is the name used in Port Keats for didgeridoo:

Once again, thanks Guan and Darryl. Exceptional video. Beautiful sounding stick and terrific playing by Darryl.

I do, Guan :)

Rolf's books are quite nice to have, and reflect a unique writing style.

There are several nice pics of David playing in ceremony-- pp 83 of 'Rolf's Walkabout' that seem to show an instrument of Port Keats origin.

One of the instruments Blanasi plays in Australian Aboriginal Music edited by Jennifer Isaacs could well be from the Port Keats area if I remember correctly.
