Here's a pic of Roy Orbison playing didj with some fellows in Darwin back in the day. This stick looks to be made of bamboo!

I like that one Kyle! Good pic!

The instrument does seem to have segmentation suggesting bamboo... which is right for the area as Bambusa arnhemica does grow around the Darwin environs and in the NW Northern Territory region.
