I stopped by Allan's house today and saw the "projects" All very interesting! I showed him the Mago (Jo Jo) and another didgeridoo that sounds like a Mago, and he and I played them. He brought out a short snake gourd didgeridoo he made, that had a wooden mouthpiece on it. I played and and it was a fun little thing to play!! Allan also brought out a Eucalyptus didgeridoo, I swear was made to be a Mago. Came from Northern Territories, termite hollowed, nice artwork, signature, and I played it.
Now...this thread is not about the gourd didj or the didgeridoo I played, but about a little recording device I stumble across and tried out. Well, I'm VERY satisfied with it. It has record capabilities, player capabilities of MP3, and others file codecs as well. Has an on board microphone and you can connect either "input" form another device, Power mic, or non-power microphone and you can also adjust the bit-rate and sampling of the sound being recorded. Very easy to start recording from being off, just push one button. It's called Ivory made by Sapphire. Has 512 MB memory, plays MP3, Records, plays eBooks (text files) and you can move files onto and off from with the explorer as easy as moving files from one place on your computer to another. Plugs into USB to charge and also for moving files. Plays for 35 hours on a full charge...that ain't bad!!

I'm starting this thread because there may be someone out there looking to record their playing, and do it some place remotely or have a recorder that fits in your shirt pocket. There are some EXCELLENT recorder out there and some of a little pricey, but for 30 bucks, you have something to put into your pocket and have for ... whenever! You can also name the folders, such as DarrylMago, Yidaki, Guan, David Hudson, etc etc and put them on the player with the corresponding music and it shows in the playlist AS that, and when you open that folder it plays those particular songs for you in excellent MP3 fashion. Even has 13 preset equalizers, plus custom where there are 22 bars to configure the setting just the way you want.
