FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIGENOUS MUSICIANS AND ARTISTS

Hi Guan,

The JB Seed is an Arts Grants Program that was started by musician John Butler and funded with the help of other artists and business partners.

The 2008 round of The JB Seed Arts Grants Program is now open.
All categories are open to Indigenous artists, however, there is one category that was especially designed for Indigenous musicians and artists.

Indigenous Recording.

Indigenous musicians are also encouraged to apply for the 2008 Music Management Workshop.

A press release and explanation of all the categories for 2008 is attached to this email.

All of the application forms are attached in this email.

To apply:
Please print out the application form for the category you want. Make sure you fill out the whole form and include all the information needed. Write which category you’re applying to on the envelope (eg. Indigenous Recording or Social Activism Through the Arts etc) and post your form to;

The JB Seed Fund
PO Box 1609
Fremantle WA 6959

You can also Fax your application to (08) 9433 4582.

Please note that applications close on the 17th March 2008.

We would be grateful if you would send this information through your networks and let everyone know who would be interested by email, newsletters, notice boards, word of mouth, websites etc. to get the word out to as many Indigenous artists and musicians in your communities as possible.

Although The JB Seed mainly funds music projects, the Social Activism Through the Arts category funds all kinds of art projects, including music, painting, film, dance, theatre, sculpture and more.

For more information, please contact Stacia Goninon by email at grants@thejbseed.com
Information about projects funded in the last two years can be viewed on our website at www.thejbseed.com

Thanks for spreading the news. The JB Seed looks forward to a great year and some really exciting Indigenous projects!

Cheers,
Marie Toparis
