Hi All,

I am writting an article about the traditional music of Australia for one of the hungarian library’s site. I mostly rely on Moyle’s works. I found something in the companion booklet - the Songs from the Northern Territory; in the supplementary notes (p.46, note 18p.35) Moyle makes reference to „Elkin’s six musical regions in Oceania, XXIV, 1953. p.101”.
I am curious, what Elkin writes about these regions. Does anyone know something about this?

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

Have you got access to Elkin's and Jones' "Arnhem Land Music"? Also on the back of Elkin's vinyl recordings there's a description of these regions if I remember correctly.

Hope that helps,

Guan
