Hi everyone!
I´m just starting to be interested about traditional playing styles, and started to look around the web about techniques. But everything useful is in english and there are some words you cant find in a dictionary. The one I´m trying to find out right now is drop jaw. Should be something about breathing. So, what´s a drop jaw??
Thx :)

With jaw drop, just move your jaw up and down, it doesn't involve breathing at all. Hope that helps!

In contemporary styles of playing there is also something like Jaw breathing... wich means you drop your jaw and close with a snap and at the same time breath in real quikly... You can play with the solo, double and triple jaw breath... The main sound should be 'Da-hon' Double would be 'Da-ha-ho-hon' and triple 'Da-ha-hon' or
'da-ho-hon'....(breath everytime on the 'hon' part).
Listening closley to the Bloodwood CD by Alan Dargin should give you an idea...
Greetsss and rezzzzpect,
Michiel
