I might have mentioned this to some Forum members and friends some months ago, that I was to go to Milingimbi for Nga:rra', however, the video footage I have of this special ceremony is restricted and I have been asked by families not to put it on the internet. The good news though is that there is a public version of it that is in the public domain and I've been told to let people know about it, check it out here:

I say a great video also. I really respect original cultures. You have great legacy about two tribes as discribed on that video. We have here in Finland also original culture which are Saami people. They have their own tradition and also own yoik music.

Got an email from Lapulung, cut and pasted below:
Quote: Guan..
Manymak to hear from you...the new Riyawarray site we have the ritual Ngarra ceremony footages that this a call of endurance of faith that lies with the philosophy of Yolngu knowledge that will enable other brothers and sisters not only in Australia but in the global nations to see and celebrate the richness of our culture. Also to show the government of Australia to understand that with these two issues of the intervention and the evaluation of customary law that all of us need to have own common ground of understanding....Needs to have the scale of justice in weighing the truth. Its about time to show that Yolngu are getting serious and ready to crack out of the nutshell with equal opportunity. It's manymak that you've checked the site and it's great that you can comment or contribute to this movement.
Your site is manymak!!!! I didn't have much time to meet with you when you were doing the videoing close up on the mudflats to the front of my wanga with Wilson Manydjarri.
